Here are some 'Circle stories' written by my students at the KGC language school in Mitaka, west Tokyo. I have edited the stories slightly, and in each case, sentences written by each student are in a different colour. The stories are written in rotation, so each student has to re-read the story each time it comes round to them, then add another sentence.

There were two girls in the
park. They were
arguing about something, and I listened to that.
They had
a big problem - they were both pregnant by the same guy. They wanted to know which person he
liked
much better. One girl
asked the other girl, "Do you know which he likes better, a baby girl
or baby boy?
The
other girl said, "Of course I
know. He wants a boy and I got it.
And so he wants to be
with me, not you."
"You
say so, but I know his secret:
his parents like me and I have a lot of money."
"Oh!
But we don't need a lot of
money, we only need much love."
"Which
is better for you - money or
love? I take money!"
"You always take money from men, it's your job, but I believe in love,
and he loves me."
"I
don't think so, his mind might
change, and he will come to think that love can't help our life, but
money can do!"
I'm going to Akihabara this afternoon. Because I have to buy a video camera. I'm going to use this for a trip to Thailand. I want to make a video of European girls on holiday, then sell it in Japan. So I need a good special one that can video in the dark, silently. So I want to go to Akihabara as soon as possible. Next weekend I will arrive in Thailand. There will be many beautiful girls on the beach, so I will put my video camera in a bag and go there to film them secretly. I hope I can make a video that I can sell through the internet. I will never be arrested because I am the president of the United States!
The first meeting with her
was in the library. She was
small and very fat, and was
wearing a strange costume. She was
reading a big thick book; sitting in front
of me.
I
thought I didn't want to talk with her.
But
unfortunately she started to
talk to me with a full smile.
As we talked, I realized she
was the most wonderful girl in the world, and I started to fall in
love. But,
I have a wife and three
children, I don't love her anymore but my children need her. Because my wife didn't do housework
everyday, and my children needed someone to do it.
I
decided to divorce my wife and
marry this girl, so I proposed to her.
But, she said, "No!
You are too old for me, and I don't like bald men."
I said, "That's too bad, but I am
going to
wear imitation hair, let's go to buy it with me now."
She said, "That's a good idea! Let's go!"
It was a dark and very wet
night.
I was alone in my house
and I
heard a strange noise from
outside. I went out my
house to see what it was.
When I got outside I saw some
strange lights coming form the trees in the park, so I went to take a
closer look. There
was something
making lights and two old ugly women were
watching
it. They said, "You looked at it, you
don't have
to see it."
I wanted to see it more closely, and so walked towards the lights, but
one of the ugly women hit me and said, "Go away, we are from another
world and we will kill you." I was
very scared and ran away from there, but dropped my room key on my way
back. I thought I had
to turn back and pick up my key, but my legs
couldn't
move. So I came back to my house by
hopping
on one
leg, and opened my room door. I shouted because the two ugly women were
following me. But then
everything went black. I woke up in
a zoo on another planet. I was like an animal and aliens came to see me
with their children.
