Bomdila

Summer

The summer months are mildly cool and humid. The average temperature during this season typically ranges between 24°C to 16°C. August is considered the hottest month here.

Monsoon

In Bomdila, the monsoon season lasts between July to September. The mountain town receives a lot of rainfall with an average temperature of 22°C to 12°C.

Winter

Winter adds more grace to the beauty of this hill station. Hence, the winter and spring seasons are preferable times to explore Bomdila. Winter offers snow-covered landscape views, while spring allows you to experience a clear sky and colorful valleys.

ILP NEEDED TO VISIT BOMBDILA

All tourists other than the natives need to get an Inner Line Permit (ILP) or Protected Area. Permit (PAP) to visit Arunachal Pradesh. The government officials check your ILP or PAP while departing for Bomdila from Guwahati or Tezpur.

GontseGadenRabyelLling (GRL) Monastery or Bomdila Monastery is the principal attraction in Bomdila. Considered a crucial center of Mahayana Buddhism, this monastery comprises three parts, namely the Lower Gompa, Middle Gompa, and Upper Gompa. It is located about 4km out of the town. The monastery holds around 300 monks and offers hostel facilities for students and lodging for tourists. The place offers scenic views of the mountain valleys and century-old graceful traditions and values. Hence, it must be the most popular sightseeing in Bomdila.

Chilipam Monastery is another major hub of century-old Buddhist culture in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.
