Surprise Me
Note: The characters in this story bear no intentional resemblance to any person living or dead.

It is 11am and Tanya is sitting at her desk in her office, thinking to herself.
'My useless husband. He has forgotten our tenth wedding anniversary. I can't believe it! Sometimes I think I am wasting my life with Pete. He just doesn't care about me anymore. Do I love him? I think I do, but I'm not sure. Why did he forget our 10th anniversary? I'm so disappointed.'

Tanya's husband Pete is not working today. He has just come out of a travel agency, and he is thinking to himself.
'Tanya is going to be so surprised. I'm sure she thinks that I have forgotten our anniversary. I can't wait to see her face when she see's the bouquet of red roses and two flight tickets to Paris. She'll be so thrilled. She loves Paris and we haven't been there since our honeymoon.'

Joshua is Tanya's colleague. His desk is close to her desk. He is also thinking to himself.
'She looks so sad today. Sad but still beautiful. Her husband doesn't deserve her. She's too good for him. I think today is a good day to ask her to leave him and become my girlfriend. I know she likes me a lot, and we have so much fun together. The last three years of working together have been wonderful, but I really want to be with her. I'll ask her to lunch and buy her some flowers as a surprise, then tell her I love her.'

It is 11.45am and Pete is driving across town to surprise his wife and he is still thinking.
'I know I'm not a very good husband. I know I've taken her for granted, but I really do love her and today I want to show her how much. I'm going to the restaurant where she always has lunch and surprise her with the roses, and the air tickets. It will be so romantic!'

It is now 12.10pm in the office and Tanya is now thinking about Joshua.
'Joshua keeps looking at me. He's so good looking. I know he's a few years younger than me, but I really like him. I wish my husband were as much fun as he is. Oh! He's walking over to me. What is he going to say?'

Joshua stands in front of Tanya's desk and says, 'Tanya, would you like to have lunch together today? I have something I want to ask you.'
'That would be nice Josh. I'm a little down today and I need someone to talk to. What time?'
'How about in twenty minutes? We can go to the usual place. I have to go to the shop first though.'
'Sounds good. See you later,' Tanya replies.

Tanya and Joshua are sitting at a table in the restaurant next to their office.
'This is for you,' Joshua gives Tanya a single red rose.
Tanya takes the rose and stares at it, 'Josh, what is this for? You know that I'm a married woman! I don't know what to say. I'm flattered, but I can't take it.' she gives him back the rose.
Then suddenly, the door opens and Pete walks in holding a his roses, 'Tanya! What's going on? Today is our anniversary and you are with another man. I don't believe it!'

Tanya walks out of the restaurant and the two men follow her, still holding their flowers. She stops, and turns around to them, and says...
