I was sitting on the morning train, going to work. The other passengers were sleeping or reading newspapers. I was also sleepy so I shut my eyes. Suddenly there was a loud noise and I opened my eyes. As I opened my eyes, the train went into a tunnel and everything went black for a second. Then it was light again, but everything was different. The other passengers had disappeared, and I was alone. Outside the windows the light was so bright that I couldn't see anything. The strangest thing was that I didn't feel afraid.
I looked along the train, but there was no one
else
there.
Suddenly, the train slowed down and stopped. The doors opened. I
stepped off the train, but it was still too bright to see anything.
Then I saw a young boy walking towards me, holding a teddy bear. He
looked just
like me when I was
a boy. He came up to me and asked me, 'What's your name?'
I said, 'My name is Stephen.'
The little boy said, 'Oh! My name is Stephen too, and I am lost.
Do you know where my
house is?'
He gave me the teddy bear and held
my hand,
and we walked away into the white light. In front
of us
was a house. The door was open and we walked inside. Inside was a very
old man sitting in an armchair. He looked just like me, but much older.
'Hello Stephen, please come in,' he said. When he smiled I could see he
had no teeth.
